Design and display of the Samsung Galaxy A30
The Samsung Galaxy A30 is a fairly extended budget phone, its large screen makes it feel like a bigger model. It was very light to hold and rather thin, only 7,7mm thin, but we were also told that the A50 was 7,7mm, and it felt even thinner.
The appearance complies with the standards in force in 2019, with a reduced screen, although it does not have the glass back or aluminum frame of the Galaxy S10 series. It is polymer on the back with a plastic frame painted in silver. At least he looks convincing.
The 6,4-inch Infinity-U AMOLED display was very vivid, with vibrant colors and good contrast - it's definitely a beautiful device, and it would be perfect for watching videos.
The large screen was only broken by a small notch at the top, commonly known as "Teardrop notch", and it is used to house the auto-camera camera.
That said, even with all this free hardware at the top of the screen, it felt like the notification icons were a bit small.
At the bottom of the device was a 3,5mm headphone jack, which we're always happy to see, and it's also equipped with a USB-C connection. The power and volume buttons on the side of the device seemed a bit too high to be used comfortably.
Much like the rear fingerprint sensor, which is an issue that comes with the size of the device, but depending on how you hold your device, that may not be a problem.

Battery Samsung Galaxy A30

Audio quality
The Samsung Galaxy A30 has achieved a good performance in the first part of the audio test. With an active external amplifier, it achieved excellent results and an above average sound volume.
While the volume didn't suffer when we plugged in the headphones, some of the scores did take a hit - most notably stereo crosstalk and, to a lesser extent, intermodulation distortion and frequency response.
The overall performance was very close to that of the Galaxy M30, which suggests a shared audio chip, but the A30 comes in close behind its sibling, likely due to slightly different wiring.
Android Pie and One UI
The Galaxy A30 comes with the new One UI interface based on Google's latest Android Pie. It launched on Galaxy S10 phones, and it's a promising replacement for the older Samsung Experience UX. As expected, it comes with heavy customizations and tons of old and new features, but presented in a cleaner and simpler way.
If you've used the Samsung UX in the past few years, you'll probably find your way around it quickly. However, there are a few important changes that may seem strange or even uncomfortable at first, but we believe the changes are for the better.
In addition to the new colorful icons which may not appeal to everyone (you can replace the default icons with another icon pack), Samsung has implemented a number of changes for more efficient and comfortable use. with one hand. Now all of the system's menus, including the drop-down menu with all of the quick command buttons, are located in the lower half of the screen, so they're right at your fingertips. It takes some getting used to, but we think it's a pretty smart fix.
Speaking of one-handed use, there are a few more little things Samsung forgot about. For example, app folders always open full screen with the icons placed on the top half of the screen, which means you'll have to use your other hand to reach them.
Our Opinion & Verdict
We're excited to see Samsung's comeback with a boost in the budget and mid-range markets. The Galaxy A series is a serious testament that the manufacturer intends to stay and conquer. Indeed, the A phones we've seen so far were very well equipped to win the market with a combination.
Just like the Galaxy A30, with its 6,4-inch Super AMOLED display, dazzling look and beautiful dual camera. It's just that Samsung already has enough A phones that are very similar to the A30.
The Galaxy A40 is around $ 10-20 cheaper than the A30 and it's essentially the same phone but more compact thanks to its smaller 5,9-inch Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy A50, meanwhile, costs around $ 50 less than the A30 and has the same screen but with more adequate chipset, RAM, graphics performance and even camera megapixels. There's a catch though: the Galaxy A30 and A40 aren't as prevalent as the A50, so your choice might be limited depending on your local market.

Finally, the Galaxy A30 is a balanced smartphone with good specs and it will serve you well on any occasion. It has one of the best displays in its class, cutting-edge software, accessories and a reliable battery.
Having so many options is a good thing, but sometimes the Galaxy A30 felt like it was the one too many in the series. But it seems that some segmentation is involved, as there are few markets where the A30, A40 and A50 are officially available all together - it's usually either A30 plus A50 or A40 plus A50. And that might as well be enough to distinguish you from the right Galaxy A.
