Sometimes creating an Instagram account using Facebook can be a problem as it will not give you the password. In this case, you need to reset the password to log in, if you want to use the Instagram account without Facebook in the future.
We know that using Instagram's Facebook login is easy to access. So what you can do is first create Instagram account without Facebook then sync your Facebook account from Linked account option given in Instagram settings and boom you can login using the Facebook account too.
How to create an Instagram account without Facebook through the app
To create your Instagram account, you must register, free of charge, via the application (available on the App Store or Google Play). You enter an email address, a username and a password. Your profile is created, you can start. This is the same account that you will use on all your devices.
Using Instagram app - Same method for Android, iPhone and Windows Smartphones.
Step 1 : If you haven't installed the Instagram app yet, here is the link to download and install it: Google Play Store.
Step 2 : After installing the application, open it and you will have three options:
- Log in
- Connect with Facebook
- Register
Step 3 : Tap the Register link and you will see an Instagram account registration screen where you can create an account using your phone number or email address. You can use either one, the procedure is almost the same.
Here we are using the phone number to complete this tutorial. Now enter your phone number and press the Next button.
Step 4 : When you press the Next button after entering the phone number you want to create and register the Instagram account with, it will send OTP code message to your number. So make sure the phone number is active and within reach.
Once you have received the OTP code to confirm the phone number with Instagram, enter this OTP in the confirmation code box and tap Next.
If you have not received the code, you can request a new one using the link above the confirmation box.
Step 5 : The following screen appears to enter the full name and password of your new Instagram account. Here, based on your full name, Instagram has automatically created a username but you can change it using the “Change Username” link. If you don't want to change it now, you can do it later from the Edit Profile option.
Step 6 : In this step, Instagram asks to connect to Facebook, so that you can follow your friends who are on Facebook using Instagram. After that add a profile picture if you want, otherwise skip this step to get the main Instagram screen.
Step 7 : Final configuration - Modify the profile of the Instagram account
- Tap on the profile icon at the bottom right, then tap Edit Profile.
- To set profile photo, tap on Edit photo button and click using camera or downloading from phone gallery.
- If you want to change your name, tap on the Name field.
- However, while creating the Instagram account above, if you have not changed the username provided by Instagram, you can do so here by tapping on the Username field.
- If you have a website or want to provide a link, like your YouTube profile, use the Website field. To tell people about yourself, use the BIO field.
- Please provide an accessible email address in the email column which will help you reset Instagram password if you forget it in the future.
- And the last field which is the phone number can be used to provide a number or update it.

Create Instagram account on PC without Facebook
- Open Instagram on your desktop PC web browser: www.instagram.com
- Click on the registration link
- You can register using the phone number or email as we did in the app tutorial above.
- And fill in other details like full name and password.
- The rest of the procedures for setting up an Instagram account on a PC without Facebook are the same as for the app.

Create a second anonymous Instagram account
As you have probably noticed, when you launch the Instagram application it asks you for permission to access several options: Photo gallery, Camera, Microphone, location etc. Therefore, many users prefer create a second anonymous Instagram account to protect their privacy. The goal here is to keep your new Instagram account separate from those of your family and / or those you usually use on your computer.
