'The Woman in the House' Season 2: Why She Won't Return for Another Season on Netflix
– Reviews News
With one of the longest names in Netflix history, The woman in the house in front of the girl debuted on the service in late January 2022, and as many of you know it was always billed as a limited series, so we're not expecting a season 2 despite the cliffhanger ending. Let's take a look at what's been said about a second season and see how well the limited series has done.
Starring Kristen Bell, the satirical series serves as a parody of various films and shows over the years, including The woman at the window with Amy Adams, which is a Netflix Original.
The eight-episode roller coaster of a series will only take about four hours to watch from start to finish and has received generally positive reviews with a 6,3 on IMDb as of April 28.
As we mentioned, The Woman in the House ends with a huge cliffhanger in which Bell's character must once again question his sanity after the woman in seat 2A dies in the bathroom of the plane and disappeared while searching for a flight attendant. However, he knows what he saw, as he finds a mirror stuck in the back of the airplane seat. Roll of credit.
Why The Woman in the House Won't Return for Season 2 on Netflix
When the show was first announced on Netflix (in October 2020), it was still labeled as a limited series. In every subsequent Deadline post, they always reiterated that it was a one-season show.
Netflix has a growing collection of limited series and we've never seen a renewal. It happens elsewhere though, with people like Your Honor on Showtime and the white lotus on HBO getting season renewals even after they were meant to be limited or mini-series as they are also known.
Then the show's finale happened, which left the doors wide open for a season 2. In fact, some point out that Netflix on the app refers to the show as "season 1" instead of a limited series like other shows do.
That said, the return of the series is not expected or confirmed for a season 2.
Since the release of the woman at homethe show was listed on Netflix's FYC page specifically on the limited series list.
Netflix's description also goes on to reiterate that this is still a limited series. The description for the series as of April 2022 reads:
“This 2022 limited series black comedy stars Kristen Bell, Michael Ealy and Tom Riley. »
Despite all of this, the showrunners and main star teased a second season. I could happen despite little or no luck.
In an interview with EntertainmentWeekly (it should be noted that it's full of spoilers), they spoke with Rachel Ramras, Larry Dorf and Hugh Davidson, who are the three showrunners of the Netflix series.
Asked about the show being billed as a limited series but considering the cliffhanger ending, Davidson said they actually spent a few days writing a season 2 saying:
“So Rachel, Larry and I spent a good couple of days figuring out what Season 2 could be, but we did it as a joke and just to make sure we knew what was going on, but we'll see. "
Kristen Bell has even expressed interest in another iteration of the series according to PopSugar, who says she "can't wait to see her character solve the big mystery at the end" in the first five minutes of episode one, then we Let's dive into another mystery as follows: the murderers. my character around”.
How did The Woman in the House perform on Netflix?
