Netflix is preparing a series inspired by the life of one of the most emblematic rock groups in contemporary music, U2. The fiction will be produced by JJ Abrams through his production company Bad Robot Productions, in addition to also participating in the Warner Bros TV deal. The project already has a screenwriter.
As revealed The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony McCartennominated for Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for 'The Theory of Everything' and 'The Two Popes', will be in charge of writing the script for the fiction.
The New Zealand screenwriter has also penned the screenplays for films such as 'The Darkest Moment' or 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
The Irish rock band formed in 1976 with Bono on vocals and rhythm guitar, The Edge as lead guitarist, Adam Clayton as bassist, and Larry Mullen Jr. as drummer. Before being called U2, the group was called Feedback and The Hype.
