Welcome to a great overview of everything Netflix Germany, Austria and Switzerland are currently preparing with us, including some previously unknown release windows. We'll cover all the new German movies and shows coming to Netflix in 2022 or beyond.
Netflix presented its German programming at the beginning of February 2022 and announced a multitude of projects, some new and some already known with some data periods. Deadline provided a broad overview of the efforts, but below we'll dive deep into the upcoming releases.

Coming to Netflix: summer 2022
Philipp Kässbohrer, who was a producer at Netflix How to Sell Drugs Online (Quickly) is working on his next big Netflix project in the form of a financial thriller miniseries called King of stones.
The story centers on a man named Felix Armand who is the mastermind of one of the greatest FinTech companies of all time: CableCash AG. The rise to the top was not easy, however, there were many scandals.
Confirmed actors include Thomas Schubert, Matthew Brandt, Larissa Sirah Herds, Sophia Burtscher, Altine Emini and Andreas Doehler.
cleo (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: Summer/Fall 2022
New series of suspense and action set in 1987 during German reunification in Berlin. We follow a spy who is arrested on flimsy grounds and then released, but she seeks revenge on those who imprisoned her.
Zeitspung Pictures GmbH is behind the series starring Jella Haase, Dimitrij Schaad, Vladimir Burlakov and Julius Feldmeier.
1899 (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: Fall / Winter 2022
We are starting not only with one of Netflix Germany's most ambitious projects, but also with one of Netflix's most ambitious productions due to its use of innovative technology.
We refer to the new series of Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar who are at the origin of the German series Dark.
The eight-episode series will follow an emigrant ship traveling from Europe to New York, but things start to go wrong after another ship is discovered at sea.

Netflix's Great Historical Drama barbarians (which went viral on social media for having scenes in Latin) returns for a second season in late 2022.

Katharina Eyssen is working on this new period drama series for Netflix. Filming for this series recently wrapped in early 2022.

Coming to Netflix: Winter 2022
This Austrian-German co-production is a six-part crime thriller based on Bernhard Aichner's international bestseller. It will first air on ORF before hitting Netflix. It was filmed in Tyrol and Vienna in 2021.

Blum, owner of a funeral home at a famous ski resort and loving mother of two young children, is deeply shaken after the accidental death of her husband. He soon realizes that he was killed because he was about to discover terrible secrets. She embarks on a vendetta, but in the process goes from hunter to hunted.

This is a Swiss series that first aired on SRF and is coming to Netflix worldwide. The eight-episode first season premiered in 2021.

Love Child / Liebes Kind

Constantin Television is producing this new 6-episode mini-series based on Romy Hausmann's novel.
The horror-thriller series is about two children who have been forced to grow up in isolation with their father nurturing and behaving and the mother with love and stories. The series picks up years after young Hannah managed to escape.
Mindfulness / Conscious Murder / Achtsam Morden

“Mindful Murder tells the story of Björn Diemel, a renowned lawyer, husband of Katharina and father of four-year-old Emily. Quiet on the Western Front / Im Westen Nichts Neues
Coming to Netflix: Winter 2022
Daniel Brühl notably directs the cast of this German war drama set during the First World War.
Directed by Edward Berger, it documents the terrifying experiences and heartache of a young German soldier on the Western Front.
Alongside Brühl are Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, Aaron Hilmer, Adrian Grünewald and Anton von Lucke.
blood and gold
Coming to Netflix: 2023 to be determined
From Rat Pack Filmproduktion comes this new “spaghetti western” set shortly before the end of World War II. Peter Thorwarth is set to direct and Stefan Barth is writing.
The film will follow a German deserter on his way home to find his only surviving daughter is attacked by an SS troop. Then, inadvertently, they participate in the search for a Jewish pot of gold hidden in a remote village.

Coming to Netflix: 2023 to be determined
Described as a "women's film for women", this drama follows a woman named Zeynap Altin who faces a turning point in her life that is not valued at her job or by her family. The film sees her fleeing her life for a vacation home in Croatia.
Naomi Krauss, Goran Bogdan Adnan Maral, Bahar Balci, Vedat Erincin, Artyom Gilz and Davor Tomić are the stars.

Futuristic action thriller from NEUESUPER GmbH set in the not too distant future with Kostja Ullmann and Corinna Kirchhoff and Boris Kunz directing.
