The first Chilean fiction series for Netflix is fast approaching. A year after unveiling its first keys, 42 days in the dark sets its premiere on the platform of Streaming for Wednesday, May 11.
Produced by Fábula and directed by Gaspar Antillo and Claudia Huaiquimilla, the drama follows Cecilia (Claudia Di Girolamo)'s race against time when her sister Verónica (Aline Küppenheim) is lost. A situation which, according to the synopsis, leads her to "fight against the negligence of institutions, the prejudices of society and the harassment of the media".

The series is inspired by the 2010 crime of Viviana Haeger, whose body was found lifeless in the attic of her house in Puerto Varas. A discovery that came after her husband, Jaime Anguita, contacted the police 42 days after her disappearance. The case has been covered in detail in the book you know whoby journalist Rodrigo Fluxá, who works as a screenwriter for the project with Huaiquimilla.
The production stars Gloria Münchmeyer as the protagonists' mother and Daniel Alcaíno as Verónica's husband. Pablo Macaya, Amparo Noguera, Néstor Cantillana, Claudio Arredondo and Julia Lubbert also perform.
