Assassin's Creed Infinity will tell the present of the saga
– Reviews News
Ubisoft is going to change the way we tell the present in the Assassin's Cred saga, removing it from the game and bringing it into Infinity.
This was unveiled during the press conference leading up to the Ubisoft Foward, where Executive Vice President and Game Producer Marc-Alexis Côté explained to reporters how the series' platform/hub will be the new home of the story in the present of Assassin's Creed.
During an interview with IGN, it was explained that Infinity will be the perfect entry point into the series' story, and where we'll separate the games' past from the present and bring it to life. The launch of Infinity and the first game linked to the platform, Codename Red, will be what Ubisoft defines as period 3 of the saga, where the first covers games from the first chapter until Syndacate, while the second phase is linked to the RPG Origin, Odyssey and Valhalla. This new phase should be a good starting point for new players, so we chose to separate the story from the present. Players will be able to dive into the story without interrupting the present or without needing to know who Desmond or Layla are.
