Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition continues to grow with the arrival of the new package Dynasties of Indiawhich, as the title suggests, focuses on Indian civilizations, as also shown in the presentation trailer of this one new extension coming April 28, 2022.
Au price for 9,99 euros, Dynasties of India enriches Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition with three new civilizations of considerable interest, each characterized by specific traits, units and particular game characteristics, as well as a campaign for each for a total of three new campaigns to add to the original content.
Here are civilization of India which will be added with this new extension:
- Bengalis: Navigate the flooding rivers and traverse the dense jungles of Bengal while building a thriving economy to feed armies of unstoppable elephants. The Bengals-only unit is the Ratha, a tough tank that can switch between melee and ranged attacks at will
- Dravidian: Take control of the rich trade routes of the Indian Ocean and use advanced metallurgy to build one of the richest maritime empires in medieval Asia. Units reserved for the Dravidians are the Urumi Swordsmen, warriors armed with a flexible sword, and the Thirisadai, a ship that dominates the seas.
- Gurjara: Harness fast mounts to traverse the fertile expanses of western India and overwhelm your foes with an army of tough and diverse units. Gurjara-only units are the shrivamsha knight, a swift cavalry unit that can dodge enemy attacks, and the chakram tower, an infantry unit that hurls volleys of deadly metal discs at opponents.
These lead to 3 new campaigns:
- abur: Nearly a century after Tamerlane's death, his descendants are still fighting for supremacy in Transoxiana and Persia. The youngest of them is Zahir ud-Din Muhammad, also known as Babur, "the tiger". His dream is to restore the lost empire, but another wave of invaders arriving on horseback from the northern steppes is about to change everything... In this campaign you will play as Tatars and Hindus
- Rajendra: Fear of inevitable corruption plagues ambitious Rajendra Chola as he navigates the difficult political climate of southern India. Will Rajendra manage to escape moral decay as he expands the empire inherited from his father, or is the real enemy to fight his fear of corruption? In this campaign, you play as the Dravidians
- Devapala: Guided by the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism, Devapala rules over a rich and vibrant empire. However, as dangerous rivals threaten his rule, the ambitious emperor finds it increasingly difficult to reconcile his politics with his morals. Will the end justify the means or will Devapala's pursuit of enlightenment for himself and his subjects fail? In this campaign, you play as the Bengalis
All of this demonstrates Microsoft's desire to offer extensive and continuous support for the various chapters of the series, considering that in the meantime, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires IV have already been released for some time.
