Our Memo del Toro is more active than ever, because in addition to the fact that we will soon see his version of Pinochio, We will also have a new series that will come out of his magical and sinister spirit: Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro.
For this series, the filmmaker has organized a collection of stories in order to challenge our traditional notions of terror. That's why in all eight episodes, we'll see elements that range from magical to sinister, gothic to grotesque or classically terrifying.
It should be noted that only two of these stories were written by Guillermo del Toro, while the others chose them from classic and contemporary writers. Likewise, the Mexican was in charge of deciding who the people who direct each of the episodes are.

So what is this mini-series about?
As we already mentioned, the joke is that you see Cabinet of curiosities by Guillermo del Toro as if it were an anthology of short stories. Each episode tells a different story but all are marked by different elements of terror.
And yes of course wait many creatures dreams or nightmares, because you already know that Memo likes to create fantastic beings.

In a press release, the director explains that with this series “we have endeavored to show the realities that exist outside our normal world: the anomalies and the curiosities. We have selected and organized the stories and those who told them, whether they come from space, from oral tradition or simply from our imagination.

Two new stories will be published every day until Friday the 28th when the full collection of eight stories becomes available.
The talent behind every episode
We already know what the eight episodes of the series are called and who will be behind each of them.

The story is based on a short story by the writer HP Lovecraft and is directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown, dusk).

The episode is inspired by a short story by novelist Henry Kuttner and was directed by Vincenzo Natali (cube, splice). It stars David Hewlett (see, The shape of water).
HP Lovecraft makes her second appearance in this anthology, as the episode is based on one of her short stories. The director is keith thomas (Fire starter) and the cast consists of Ben Barnes (Shadow and bone), Crispin Glover (american gods; Back to the Future) and Oriana Leman (detectives).
It comes from episodes of a cabinet of curiosities What is based on an original short story by Guillermo del Toro and it's doubly special because it's directed by Mexican cinematographer and director William Navarro.
In fact, Navarro and del Toro have collaborated on several films such as The backbone of the devil, hell boy, Pan's Labyrinth, among others.
The story stars Tim Blake Nelson (watchmen), Elpidia Carrillo (predator, euphoria), Demetrius Grosse (Fear the living dead) and Sebastien Roche (The man in the high castle).
