Fans of "Bridgerton" can not only look forward to two more seasons, but also a prequel series. Casting for the lead role has now been announced for it.
Although "Bridgerton" only started in December 2020, the Netflix series was extended for a total of three seasons the following spring. But the service of Streaming has even bigger plans: Because in May 2021, an unnamed former Bridgerton prequel series announced (via Variety). Now, there is some big casting news.

It will be some time before we see the prequel series. The project is currently in the filming phase. The series will mainly focus on Queen Charlotte in her youth to concentrate. Emphasis is also placed on the aftermath of Charlotte's marriage to King George, which laid the groundwork for the events of "Bridgerton".
The queen's lead role in the limelight takes over India Amarteifio, as revealed recently. The young actress only made brief appearances as a supporting actress in shows such as 'Doctor Who', 'Line of Duty' and 'Sex Education'. Thus, the prequel to "Bridgerton" is the biggest project of her acting career.

In addition to India Amarteifio, there are also some familiar faces in the ranks of the cast. Golda Rosheuvel, who plays old Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton, will also appear in the series. Ruth Gemmell, who plays Lady Violet Bridgerton, and Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Agatha Danbury in Bridgerton, will also appear in the prequel. The Queen's husband is also played by Corey Mylchreest, who is making his feature film/series debut with the project.
The showrunner for the series is Shonda Rimes, who served as Bridgerton's executive producer. The creator of Grey's Anatomy will also be in charge of writing the scripts. In the director's chair, on the other hand, is Tom Verica, who has already been responsible for directing four episodes of "Bridgerton." There is no release date yet. However, when the prequel series launches, we will have new stories from the main series. Then from now on you can find all eight episodes of the second season of “Bridgerton” on Netflix.
