The 35-year-old American actor, known for his work on the series 'American Horror Story'assures that after this experience he was subjected to one of the most complex projects of his career professional. In an interview for the Netflix channel in Youtube “Inner Look”talked in depth about " to fear " that he felt during the construction of a character for which he had to "go to unexplored places during filming".
“Everything that happened was so strong that it was really I felt it was important to be respectful of the victims, the families of the victims, try to tell the story as authentically as possible. Frankly, I was very afraid of everything he did and I immersed myself in it, and trying to commit to it was absolutely going to be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do because I wanted it to feel so authentic. But to do thatI had to go to very dark places and stay there for a long time“, explained the actor.
"I have to say the team was instrumental in keeping me going, I can't thank them enough and couldn't have played that role with them. It was a challenge trying to have this person who was seemingly so normal but, deep down, had this whole world that he was hiding from everyone else."
Evan Peters used one extensive research process for the preparation, reading biographies, the 1992 police report on Dahmer's confession. As well as recordings of interviews and statements from a psychologist and detective who handled the case of this particular serial killer.
