Super Mario 64: the unofficial PC port runs at 60fps, Luigi is there too
– Reviews News
Drawing from the source code of Super Mario 64 which was the subject of a huge leak in July 2020, the youtubeur and independent developer Kaze Emanuar has recompiled and rewritten the code of the masterpiece of the Nintendo platform to be able to run on PC at 60fps.
The content creator who has in the past been repeatedly blocked by Nintendo for his unauthorized mods is not giving up and, with the support of his Patreon fundraising campaign participants, is returning to YouTube to explain how he managed to unlock the original frame rate of Super Mario 64.
The work carried out by Kaze Emanuar is entirely based on the source code of the cult Nintendo 64 platform, that is to say without foreseeing the use of software that artificially modifies the code of the video games made by emulation. In the movie, you can appreciate the gameplay and picture-cleaning benefits of the increased framerate: there's not even the 3D model of Luigi in Super Mario 64 discovered in the source code.
Please note - The news is reported for the record and in no way wants to incite or encourage piracy, a practice that the editorial staff of Everyeye.it denounces in all its forms.
