Streamable sports content
Co-owners of H20 and UMR, Jack Maraffi and Michael Wiles added: “We are delighted to add this sports channel to our long list of 33 entertainment and lifestyle programming categories. It is well known that sports is the most watched category on television. We are committed to promoting the sport of handball, perhaps one of the oldest games in the world, and played in all countries. With a niche market ready, we believe we can bring more attention to this fast-paced game. We also recognize that ESPN started by featuring stickball on their channel.
New addition to 34 channel aggregation
Maraffi and Wiles added: "The Handball Channel joins our urban entertainment group 'Under the Radar' where our core cohort recognizes us as a tastemaker in creating original niche programming either through our company wholly-owned broadcast production company (Red Door Productions), or allied partners. Our other list of 33 channels includes a 24-hour news channel, a travel channel (SCRAM!), Delicious, our delicious restaurant, and even a children's channel (Story Time.)”
Paul Williams
The Handball Channel was created with longtime handball advocate and member of New York State and the National Handball Hall of Fame, champion Paul Williams. Mr. Williams, a veteran of more than 40 years in the sport, founded and sits on the board of the Inner City Handball Association, which has been in existence for 31 years. He was a board member of the United States Handball Association and past president of the World Handball Council, as well as president of the NYAC Killer Club. He will host an informative program called “All Things Handball”.
