South of the Circle is a new project inspired in the footsteps of the splendid Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch
– Reviews News
Two years ago it debuted on Apple Arcade South of the circle, a title developed by State of Play and 11 Bit Studios, authors of Frostpunk and This War of Mine. The genre does not change but the atmosphere is totally different, already with a resolutely more cheerful color palette.
South of the Circle takes place in the 1960s during the Cold War, in Antarctica. The enormous coldness of the environment contrasts with the emotional warmth generated by the memories of the protagonist, who survived an emergency landing. The more complicated the situation, the more the memories will be confused, in a mixture between reality and fantasy.
« South of the Circle is one of those love at first sight" , he pretends Mark Ziemak, director of external development at 11 bit studios. " The narrative and artistic sensibility of the game immediately fascinated us. South of the Circle is heavily inspired by world-class cinematic storytelling, which makes it a bit different from our previous titles. Once players experience its immediately gripping and emotionally charged narrative, we're sure they'll understand why we wanted to have it in our editorial portfolio. And we're excited to be able to start working with State of Play because they're a studio that's been on our radar for a long time.“An official release date has yet to be announced but the port will be available on PC and consoles. Further details will be revealed later.
