Christmas series and films have started to air, although Spain is there to show something new and different with smileyseries set at Christmas and New Years featuring a couple of gay menwhose attraction is shrouded in disagreements, romance, and plenty of comedy.
Official smileys synopsis
This story takes the viewer straight to Barcelona, just as we meet Alexandre, a boy with a rather chaotic love life, because while he had started to have illusions with a boy, he suddenly disappeared two weeks later; what is essentially called ghost Today.
In the midst of her anger and spite, she decides to call him and leave a voicemail asking for an explanation; however, to his "misfortune", he ended up sending it to Brunowho you don't even know.
This funny but big misunderstanding (and as you may have seen start with a smiling emoji) is the basis of a chain of events that will confront two different generations, with completely opposite tastes and attitudes, that will change their lives forever.
First impressions
With a positive popularity rating on IMDBthe series is already beginning to register its first reviews, where Besay García Benitez of El Espiler believes that Simely respects break with certain clichés of LGBT+ series from Spain, but finds himself stuck with a scenario limited by romantic comedy genre and the attempt to explore too many subplots at once.
Likewise, and as can be seen in the trailer, it is evident that the screenwriters reflected on the stereotypes that hook the public, as in the case of the “gym heart” or the “shy and intelligent guy”, playing with the idea that opposites attract, even more so in the gay community.
Official Smiley Cast
The series is produced by the gallants Miki Esparbe Yes Carlos Cuevas, while the rest of the cast is made up of Pepón Nieto, Meritxell Calvo, Giannina Fruttero, Eduardo Lloveras, Ruth Llopis and Ramón Pujol. @mundiario
