Rebel Wilson returns in 2002 in “Senior Year”, soon available on Netflix!
Eminem, Shakira and the “Ketchup Song”, waist chains, baggy jeans and donkey antlers – welcome to 2002. The year “Senior Year” is set with Rebel Wilson at the start.
"Senior Year" with Rebel Wilson: that's comedy
Ruby (Rebel Wilson), the most popular girl in her high school and leader of the cheerleading squad, is set to graduate in 2002 — and be crowned Prom Queen. But nothing comes of it: during a cheerleading maneuver, she falls and falls into a coma. Fast forward 20 years: Ruby wakes up from her coma at the age of 37 and not only has to deal with her new life, but also wants to catch up on her high school diploma.
Rebel Wilson returns to school in "Senior Year" after 20 years in a coma.
Netflix
Not only do the ladies of "And Just Like That" know that someone who's missed the last 20 years and is now thrown into the new present has to overcome some hurdles (okay, they've had trouble with the zeitgeist even without coma). So Ruby returns to her school and alongside a former classmate who now teaches there who still seems to be her nemesis, she has to deal with many new realities: like the queer people on the cheerleading squad, empowerment like it wasn't in 2002 was imaginable. But Ruby's goal is the same as it was then: she wants to be prom queen.
