Epic Games aired the State of Unreal showcase on April 5 to update the community and developers on the progress of the new graphics engine, for the occasion the list of studios working on games in Unreal Engine 5 was also released and among these, see also the PlayStation VR2 logo.
With names like GSC Game World, Saber, Yager, Remedy, CD project (the new The Witcher will run on Unreal Engine 5) and Codemasters appear from Sony and Microsoft owned studios such as Rare, The Initiative, Haven, Double Fine, Coalition (author of a technology demo in Unreal Engine 5), Obsidian and Ninja Theory, also in the image published by Epic, the PlayStation VR2 logo is also clearly visible, confirming how studies are underway on VR games for the new viewer made with Unreal Engine 5.
Sony is rumored to be planning a PlayStation VR2 presentation soon, as known the viewer was shown at GDC in March behind closed doors but it was never officially presented to the public.
PlayStation VR2 will be released in 2023 according to an insider while other sources confirm the launch for the end of this year, as well as Horizon Call of the Mountaina VR spin-off of the Guerrilla series announced in January at CES in Las Vegas.
