The new week is fast approaching. So it's time to look ahead again to see what movies and series are waiting for us on Netflix in the next seven days. Fantasy fans can look forward to the sequel to Fate: The Winx Saga.
Netflix
A week after major series releases, Netflix likes to take it easy, especially with the release of the highly anticipated fifth season of the acclaimed series The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai. Nevertheless, the service of Streaming has some potentially exciting titles on the way in the coming days. Here are Netflix highlights for the week of September 12-18, 2022, sorted by day of the week as always.
Monday: “Cold Feet”
The week begins quietly with German comedies. In “Cold Feet,” indebted petty crook Denis (Emilio Sakraya) breaks into the secluded villa of wealthy stroke patient Raimund (Heiner Lauterbach), where he is not only mistaken for a new nurse, but soon also with his "patient" due to a snowstorm and his granddaughter (Sonja Gerhardt) is included. However, Raimund, who is no longer able to speak, immediately perceives the newcomer and tries to defend himself against him by all possible means.
Since “Cold Feet” ultimately dares too little, the black comedy unfortunately ignites too rarely. The ridiculous premise, the good-natured actors, and at least a few nasty bits give pleasure at least once in a while.
Tuesday: The series for “Cyberpunk 2077”
Action RPG 'Cyberpunk 2077' caused a stir in late 2020, in part because it was the new game from 'The Witcher' developers at CD Projekt Red (which also starred the darling of Hollywood Keanu Reeves in a supporting role), on the other hand because the console versions in particular caused an outcry from fans due to massive technical issues.
In the meantime, the waves have calmed down somewhat, so that the world of "Cyberpunk 2077" can now be expanded carefree – for example with an anime spin-off on Netflix, which CD Projekt Red has developed together with Studio Trigger, which has already been developed for the two acclaimed episodes "The Twins" and "The Old Man" of the animated anthology series "Star Wars: Visions".
"Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" has no direct connection to the game model in terms of content. Instead, we'll meet a new cast of characters trying to make ends meet in the tech-obsessed and future-oriented Night City.
Wednesday: Crime Reenactment
Crime fans in particular will get their money's worth on Wednesday – both in the realm of fiction with the Norwegian series “Disappeared in Lørenskog” and in the real crime business with the documentary mini-series “The Crimes of Our Mother”. And in the real-life drama The Catholic School, about one massacre at a time, you basically get a mix of the two.
Meanwhile, there are teenage heartbreaks in Australia's Heartbreak High, while the movie Broad Peak tackles icy and dangerous heights.
Thursday: breath
Hardcore football fans can expect the documentary series 'Imperator Fatih Terim' about the Turkish manager of the same name on Thursday, while young four-legged friends will be treated to new episodes of the children's animated series 'Dogs in Space”. But there weren't really any new beginnings worth mentioning that day.
Friday: new “Fate: The Winx Saga” episodes
Just in time for the weekend, there's a great flood of releases on Netflix again, with the long-awaited second season of 'Fate: The Winx Saga' clearly standing out from the many titles, finally making its way to the Find a platform Streaming.
In season 2 of the dark adaptation of the once cult animated series "Winx Club", the young fairy Bloom (Abigail Cowen) continues her education at the magical boarding school of Alfea, where nothing is the same after a violent blow state. Also present this time: Template fan favorite Flora (played by Paulina Chávez).
There's also some grim fantasy entertainment for young adults with the South African gods series 'The Brave Ones'. On the other hand, things are clearing up a bit in the new Netflix comedies "I Used To Be Famous" and "Do Revenge." In the latter, Maya Hawke (“Stranger Things”), Camila Mendes (“Riverdale”), Cassady McClincy (“The Walking Dead”) and Sophie Turner (“Game Of Thrones”) are four hip young stars of the absolute series - Hits the honor.
Also new on Friday: the Spanish thriller series “Santo”, the animated adventure “Drifting Home” and the documentary “Scandal! The fall of Wirecard”.
Saturday: Work off the watch list…
No new Netflix titles have been announced for the weekend. The service of Streaming again gives you time at the end of the week to peruse your watchlists, which are sure to be jam-packed.
Sunday: … or go to the cinema
Or you can head back to your trusted cinema, where this week, along with “Dear Kurt,” Til Schweiger's best film in 15 years is one of the latest releases to watch:
