Fargo is my favorite series of the last ten years. No other has thrilled me so much episode after episode and filled me with childlike anticipation with each new episode, for what showrunner Noah Hawley probably came up with this time for bizarre stories full of crime, weird characters and humorous outbursts of violence.
Starting today, all four seasons of “Fargo” are finally available via Amazon Prime Video subscription:
“Fargo” Season 4 on Amazon Prime Video*
This is especially good news because Season 4 was previously exclusive to Joyn PLUS, where it just didn't get the reach it deserved. Thanks to Prime Video, the latest season is also being made available to a wide audience. Seasons 1-3 have been available on Netflix for quite some time.
It's Fargo
"Fargo" not only bears the same name as the Coen brothers' cinematic masterpiece from the 90s, but is also a serial adaptation of it. However, only the setting of a small snowy town (more locations will be added in later seasons) and the black humorous tone were adopted here. Each season tells a story in its own right at a different time. Thus season 1 takes place in 2006, season 2 in 1979, season 3 in 2010 and season 4 in 1950.
Except for a few loose connections, the individual storylines are independent and the characters that appear in them are different, but they're still first-class. Big stars such as Martin Freeman, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Patrick Wilson, Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead appeared on camera during "Fargo."
Over the course of their respective stories, the characters are all drawn into (or caught in the middle of) a preposterous vicious circle of criminal machinations that escalates more and more over the respective season and leaves a trail of devastation in their lives. . wake up at the end.
It doesn't matter if it's on Amazon or Netflix: that's why you should watch "Fargo".
'Fargo' is a gift for anyone who loves darkly humorous bizarre gangster movies like 'Pulp Fiction', 'See and Die Bruges' or, well, the movie 'Fargo'. Each character could come straight out of a Tarantino or Coen movie. From the taciturn, badass hitman with the menacing aura of Anton Chigurh from No Country For Old Men, to a wimpy crime boss who looks like you would cross paths with legendary Al Pacino godfather Michael Corleone with a parody of Hitler, to an evil Nurse who loves to let her patients die in their hospital beds.
There are series where you wait all the time for that character you celebrate so much to finally reappear. With "Fargo" you can't stop partying because almost all the characters are so much fun. Whether it's Ewan McGregor in his dual roles as the fighting twins or the pathetic little sausage Martin Freeman who committed murder in a fit of anger and now seeks the help of a professional killer. Everyone involved in "Fargo" exudes the pure joy of acting - and not just on camera.
“Fargo” gets a 5th season
Noah Hawley and his team of writers let off steam too. These range from staged gimmicks such as the frequent use of split-screen to the rare inclusion of fantasy and sci-fi elements at the occasional WTF moment. Additionally, almost none of the characters are safe from death, and your favorite fans are always to be expected to leave the show in often bizarre violent events, which always ensures a high level of tension.
With Fargo, you never know what to expect next. But whatever, it's damn good!
