Just three weeks after launch, said Netflix a series whose supplier Streaming promised great success. However, fans and critics saw things differently. What goes down the drain at the end of these short-lived cancellations are in some cases the stars of the formats. At least "Cowboy Bebop" frontman John Cho found his series ending completely unexpected, as he first explained.
Netflix series canceled: Brutal end for “Cowboy Bebop” a disappointment
The Japanese anime series "Cowboy Bebop" is considered a true masterpiece. Turning it into a live-action Netflix series at least had a chance of being an equally big hit. However, the hoped-for goal was not achieved. On the contrary, after only a few weeks, the end of "Cowboy Bebop" was certain.
The flop came as a shock to lead actor John Cho, also known for his role as Mr. Zulu in the new 'Star Trek' series. Especially since he and his family had taken on the filming a lot, as he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
“I have invested a large part of my life. I got injured during filming and took a year off for the operation (…) and came back to finish the series. (…) Also, we were filming in New Zealand, so my family moved there. It was just a huge event in my life and suddenly it was over. It was very shocking and I was disappointed.

The reactions to the Netflix series, meanwhile, have been partly devastating. It is “the product of a culture that digs up yesterday because it has no new ideas for tomorrow”. Stream numbers also reflected such ratings and fell short of the levels the creators expected.
Are you still hoping for Cowboy Bebop season 2?
The question of whether there really won't be a second season of the Netflix series "CowBoy Bebop" could still be open. Those in favor of a sequel can join a change.org petition dedicated to preserving the live action. So far, about 148 people have voted in favor with their signature.
The "Lucifer" series proves that such a fan movement can be quite successful. This was canceled after the third season, which had sparked a huge fan movement for the sequel. Netflix then revived the series for seasons four and five, while it is now available on Amazon Prime.
