With the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by the Walt Disney Company, the Maushaus also obtained the rights to 20th Century Fox Animation, including the company Blue Sky Studios. This was responsible for the series "Ice Age", "Rio" or "Spione Undercover". In February 2021, Disney formalized the closure of Blue Sky Studios.
As Disney continues to bring the "Ice Age" brand to life and develops not only a sixth installment of the popular animated series with "Ice Age - The Adventures of Buck Wild", but also the "Ice Age: Scrat's Adventures" series, d other projects have been put on hold. For example, the highly anticipated comic adaptation “Nimona”. However, as has now been announced, Netflix is taking care of the matter.

Netflix is teaming up with Annapurna Pictures (Spring Breakers, American Hustle) to release the film adaptation of ND Stevenson's award-winning comic book in 2023. Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz will voice the eponymous protagonist, while the Oscar winner Riz Ahmed will voice the villainous Ballister Boldheart, who seeks revenge after being kicked out of Law and Order and Heroism Institute Has.
Nimona will be directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, who made their directorial debut in 2019 with Spies Undercover. While fans of the model will have to wait a bit longer to see "Nimona" on Netflix, it's gratifying that the project hasn't been canceled entirely, but has found a new home.
The comic adaptation has always been highly anticipated simply because the story also commits to listening to LGBTQIA+ voices, as the film is expected to feature many characters whose gay orientation and identity fluidity are definitely an issue. .
Only a short time left on Netflix: Liam Neeson's action and one of the best comic book adaptations of all time can be streamed quickly
