Netflix, which first lost subscribers earlier this year before recently announcing it was resuming expansion, has been experimenting with new models including a cheaper subscription with ads.
On Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that Netflix is considering bringing live sports programming to its platform for the first time.
Rivals such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video already offer live sports and music events among their programming.
Netflix has promoted a live comedy festival at more than 35 locations in Los Angeles, but these shows are not yet available on its platform.
Rock, one of the most recognized comedians in and outside the United States, made headlines in March when he was slapped by actor Will Smith at the Oscars.
