According to Variety, Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra wrote in an email: "We support many companies around the world that have now suspended business operations in Russia and support the humanitarian efforts currently underway. in and around Ukraine. According to the outlet, Sony Group Corporation has also donated $2 million to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and international NGO Save the Children to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian civilians who have been forced to seek refuge in safe havens and are even fleeing the country as Russia continues its military attacks. Besides Sony, Netflix, Amazon, Disney and Warner Media are among the few others to have suspended operations in Russia in response to the country's invasion of Ukraine.
In other news, Crunchyroll and Funimation's recent merger made headlines recently. In early March, it was officially announced that Funimation animated content would be moving to Crunchyroll.
