Josh and Benny Safdie are among the most interesting filmmakers of our time. After causing a stir in 2017 with their homage to Martin Scorsese "Good Time" and lead actor Robert Pattinson rushing mercilessly through New York's nightlife, big hits followed two years later. FILMSTARTS' official review not only gave 5 stars out of a possible 5 for "The Black Diamond" starring Adam Sandler. The 135-minute tour de force is also the best Netflix movie of all time for us.

As Eric Kohn, editor of IndieWire, has just learned that the Safdie Brothers and Adam Sandler will be working on a new project. What it is is not yet known. Additionally, there has been no official confirmation that the trio will be together again after 'The Black Diamond' and the 'Goldman v Silverman' short.
Josh and Benny Safdie are currently busy directing The Curse, starring Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder, for Showtime. It is a comedy format in which a newly married couple (Stone and Fielder) deal with an alleged curse that would plague their relationship on their own television show. A release date is not yet known.
Adam Sandler, meanwhile, just wrapped crime comedy Murder Mystery 2, which is slated to hit Netflix in early 2023 (before that, sports drama Hustle hits Netflix on June 10, 2022). The predecessor, "Murder Mystery", is one of the service's most successful films. Streaming. The sequel is directed by Jeremy Garelick (“The Best Man Inc”), while James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac”) is rewriting the screenplay.
So, the Safdies and Adam Sandler would certainly find time in their schedules to work together again in the near future. Let's see if that really happens.
