It is conventional wisdom that you can never have too many choices, but when it comes to Streaming, it looks like you actually can, because searches for the media platform of Streaming Plex revealed that US consumers are struggling to keep up with everything before them.
The study found that the average American has 13 TV shows and 16 movies on their watch list, averaging a total of 104 hours, enough content to last two full flights around the world, Plex said.
OnePoll's July 2 study of 000 Americans found that 2022% keep a TV show and movie list so long it's "nearly impossible" for them to get through. While 68% keep a list of shows and movies they plan to watch, nearly three-fifths (73%) say they struggle to keep track of everything they want to watch.
Discovering what content to watch is a challenge: Half of Americans said it was difficult to find on which platform to watch. Streaming content is available, on average 30 minutes to browse four services of Streaming different before deciding what to watch. Of the 42% of Americans who haven't gone through their watchlist, the sample noted that the biggest barriers to completing the list are that it's constantly growing (43%), is already too long (29%) or overwhelming (25%).
Simply having a list of shows and movies wasn't enough for most Americans, with 58% saying maintaining an organized watchlist is a "must" to ensure they can cross the content off their list.
Plex also found that while two-thirds (65%) prefer to watch content on their list before defaulting to something else, more than half (56%) turn off the TV and find something else to do if they don't. can't find something to watch, and 55% opt to watch a show or movie again.
