It's a good idea to remove old and obsolete Bluetooth devices from your Windows 11 computer. Although this should be a simple process most of the time, it can be confusing if Windows ends up interrupting you with a deletion.
If you're having trouble getting rid of paired Bluetooth devices in Windows, this guide has solutions that might help. So, let's take a look at them.
1. Try removing the device in airplane mode
First, you need to enable Airplane Mode in Windows and remove the Bluetooth device again. This will disconnect Windows from all wireless services, such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and prevent them from interfering with the removal process.
Step 1: Press Windows Key + A to open the Action Center and click Airplane Mode button to activate it.
Step 2: Next, right-click on the Bluetooth icon and select Go to Settings.
Step 3: Go to Devices.
Step 4: Click the three-dot menu icon next to your Bluetooth device and select Remove Device.
2. Run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter
Windows 11 includes a wide range of troubleshooters to help you resolve most system-level issues. You can try running the Bluetooth troubleshooter in Windows to see if that improves the situation.
Step 1: Click the Search icon on the taskbar to open Windows Search, type troubleshoot configurationand select the first result that appears.
Step 2: Go to Other troubleshooters.
Step 3: Click the Run button next to Bluetooth and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.
Check if you can delete Bluetooth devices.
3. Check Windows Services
Bluetooth Support is an essential program that makes it easy to find and pair remote Bluetooth devices. Ideally, this service should start every time Windows starts. But if it doesn't or the service isn't working properly, restarting it will help.
Step 1: Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box, type services.mscand press Enter.
Step 2: In the Services window, scroll down until you find the Bluetooth support service. Right-click on it and select Restart from the list.
You will also need to restart the device pairing service, which handles pairing between Windows and your Bluetooth devices.
After restarting these services, try to remove the Bluetooth device again.
4. Use the control panel
If you can't remove a Bluetooth device from the Settings app, you can turn to the good old Control Panel to accomplish the same thing. That's how.
Step 1: Click the Search icon on the taskbar to open Windows Search, type Control paneland press Enter.
Step 2: Change the display type to large or small icons and go to Devices and Printers.
Step 3: Right-click on the device you want to get rid of and select Delete Device.

6. Delete Device in Safe Mode
If you still cannot remove a Bluetooth device, you can try starting your PC in safe mode. This will disable all non-essential third-party drivers, services and programs. Therefore, the deletion process will not be interrupted in any way.
To start Windows in Safe Mode, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open the start menu and click the power icon.
