E3 2022 will once again be digital-only, organizers retrace their steps
– Reviews News
After a year I jumped ed an E3 2021 organized in an all-digital formatthe organizers of the largest video game fair in the world would have liked come back to fully experience the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, the Entertainment Software Association was hit with the harsh reality like all of us: with the fourth wave of the pandemic in full swing, it is not yet time to let our guard down (even if it could be this month of June, when E3 usually takes place… but organizing an event of a certain magnitude still requires some notice).
Due to the ongoing health risk of Covid-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not take place in person in 2022. We are still excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.
So E3 2022 will once again take on a digital-only form. ESA has already gained some experience over the past year, providing fans with eventful days through the 'fair' app: with all the empathy we can put in place for American players, for us Europeans, this means a busier E3 with remotely accessible content… so no complaints.
There are still several months to go before this year's fair, so it's still early to say how it will pan out and whether Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest (which has just been reconfirmed) will be a strong contender this summer. What do you think about it? Let us know on our Facebook group.
