If audiovisual production companies have achieved anything lately, it's that they hold a veritable gold mine in adaptations of video games. Unexplored, The last of us Is biological shock are just a few of the triple-A games that have already walked through the hoop, and that's why it only seemed a matter of time before Aloy, the charismatic protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn.
During yesterday, Deadline revealed that The Umbrella Academy would have a fourth (and final) season, which would be directed by Steve Blackman. And that's where the bomb fell: Blackman himself had already started working on an adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn for Netflix. Blackman, by the way, is the one who also directs the adaptation of BioShock for the popular video platform.
« Horizon Zero Dawn is an exceptionally well designed game with wonderful characters that you don't often see in the world of video games. Guerrilla Games has created an incredibly fresh and lush world of men and machines on a collision course with oblivion,” Blackman explained.
There are many doubts as to whether the project will be a literal (but expanded) adaptation of the games, as is the case with the series of The last of us or if, on the contrary, they will take only a few elements from the particular setting of the video game and create completely new stories and characters. It's probably closer to the first, since Blackman confirmed that Aloy would be the protagonist of the adaptation: "Aloy will be a main character in our story. »
Finally, Blackman announced that the video game adaptation will be a series, not a movie, but we still have several unknowns to answer about the project. Who will play Aloy? When is the series scheduled to premiere? Fortunately, we will still have some adaptations of video games ready to liven up the wait.
