The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Amazon battles negative reviews
– Reviews News
Amazon experience a new way to fight bombardment of negative reviewsin order to preserve the The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, his new series set in the world of Tolkien. As Variety reports, the American giant uses the same system already used for A League of Their Own, deferring all user reviews for 72 hours.
The principle followed is simple: i troll they love being among the first to throw mud at a work, so holding them back is like putting them out. Additionally, Amazon intends to review all reviews to determine which reviews are genuine and to distinguish them from fake reviews created by bots, trolls, and other species of digital provocateurs. For A league apart the system seems to have worked, as the series has a 4,3-star rating on Prime Video, with 80% of critics giving it a 5-star rating and only 14% a 1-star rating.
It must be said that A League of Their Own has an 85% user rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so the series has been highly rated even where reviews haven't been limited. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power instead averages 39% on the same site, so the starting point is much more critical.
For the rest, we remind you that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has set the viewing record for Amazon Prime Video. If you want to know more, you can read our review of the first two episodes.
