If you're a Weird West fan, this patch note guide will definitely be extremely helpful when it comes to issues and improvements.
Weird West came out recently and it's no wonder it's already one of the video games most popular in the world.
Even though it seems to work flawlessly, some players have reported encountering related errors that interfere and block their gameplay experience. Others have reported that they need further improvements.
That's why the engineers at Weird West announced the latest patch notes in April, available via the 1.0.1 update.
Note that you can enjoy all of them both on PC (via the Steam gaming platform) and in VR.
The latest update added critical bug fixes and some quality of life improvements related to inventory and stores. Apart from this, Weird West Patch 1.01 also includes various stability improvements.
Now let's find out everything you need to know about this topic.
What are the latest Weird West patch notes?
1. Improvements
- If your horse was moving around trying to retrieve your saddlebags (and saddlebags won't auto-close if you restart movement for some reason, but will continue to auto-close if you move away from your horse), it now stops .
- To resell items directly from your inventory, the inventory of companions and horses can now be accessed directly from the shop UI.
- Wanderers now also buy junk items to provide more opportunities to resell these items on the road.
- The game now goes through 5 autosave slots instead of 3. This way you can now go back through save files more easily.
- Game Pass PC Build now uses 10 manual save slots like on Xbox (instead of 5), corresponding to Save Roaming between the two platforms.
- The Protector Journey hero recruited as a companion will no longer mistakenly leave your gang when receiving friendly fire.
- Bolt-action Forester rifles now have their correct icon on the weapon wheel.
- Improved throwing weapons (e.g. dynamites etc.) cast arc and speed so they are easier to use in combat and can be easily thrown through door frames etc.
- Engineers reduced the wait time on scrap weapon interaction to be the standard interaction time. This way, it would be less complicated to dispose of several weapons in a row.
- The developers have added an option that allows players to transfer all unwanted items from their inventory to a buddy, horse, or container inventory at once.
- Added a non-blocking Bounty Targets intro line so you don't get derailed by a blocking conversation while fighting or sneaking up on your target.
- The developers also adjusted the distraction noise that occurs when props are thrown. Therefore, the AIs will react from further away, allowing players to have more control over this system.
- You can now drop items from your inventory by navigating to your container/NPC inventory and opening your inventory side panel.
2. Fixes
- Opening the Store UI – According to some users, a random item in the player's inventory was sometimes auto-sold by mistake, if they pressed USE too long when validating the Find Goods option. Fortunately, it's fixed now.
- craft items – Until now, crafted items were not dropped at the player's feet if their inventory was full.
- Keyboard and mouse problem – In this case, users were unable to access the Skills and Perks tab of the log if they had used LMB on any of the skills or perks. With the latest updates, this annoying problem is now solved.
- Pagan Travel Encounter – Wasn't triggering on a specific story path, but this issue will no longer give you a headache.
- Baneling Sigil and Battle Pit – Many players have reported that it was mistakenly destroyed when using a generic seal to access a secondary temple. As in other situations, this issue has been resolved.
- The problem of abandoned mines – As the Abandoned Mine was sometimes not properly equipped with sirens when using the siren stage, the makers took care of this issue.
- Foliage/shrub areas in the canyon location – These have been fixed to have less holes so you don't get caught walking hidden in the middle of a grove.
- Gun Shop Guards – Related issues have also been resolved, as you will no longer have to worry about being tricked into guarding city banks instead of inside the armory.
- Easy Prey/Terror in Trailside missions – Users reported that their quest item was missing when they entered the Abandoned Wagon location and re-entered it before finding the item. With the latest Weird West patch notes, that won't be a problem.
- Finding a Husband in Bounty Hunter Journey – This has also been fixed, not releasing then returning to Galen's Crossing and completing local objectives prematurely and incorrectly ending the journey.
- Tanning Racks at Trapper Camps – A large number of players around the world have reported having navigation mesh under them, which could cause side quest NPCs to spawn inside tan racks and block side quest progress. This, the developers managed to solve this annoying situation.
- rope problem – The rope is no longer removed from your inventory each time you reload to a location where you had attached the rope to a skylight.
- skill wheel - Seems it was not showing weapon skills when setting AIMING to TOGGLE MODE and aiming your weapon. Fortunately, it is now resolved.
What other rare fixes came with the Weird West patch notes?
The fixes above apply to the most common reported situations. However, there are other rare issues that have been fixed by the developers, and to find out about them, check the list below:
