Four and a half hours is admittedly a pretty big time commitment for entertainment. That's about 19% of a full day, or 30% of waking hours for someone who sleeps nine hours a night. If a person commits to watching one program for that long, it better be good. With that in mind, I couldn't more fully recommend Storm of the Centurythe 1999 miniseries written by Stephen King which is now available in Streaming for the first time.
With the world now heading full steam ahead into the Halloween season, those with a Hulu subscription have been given a wonderful and surprising gift, like Storm of the Century is now available in the library of the service of Streaming in the form in which it originally aired: in three chapters lasting 85 to 90 minutes each. The news that the miniseries is available to watch legally online was recently highlighted by Stephen King personally, who took to his personal Twitter account to alert fans and express his tremendous appreciation for the work:

call from stephen king Storm of the Century the miniseries favorite he wrote is an incredible superlative and an opinion he once shared. He expressed the same sentiment in December 2020 when the latest adaptation of the miniseries of The stall was debuting on what is now called Paramount+. He praised the televised event for its authenticity, noting that it was filmed during a winter in Southwest Harbor, Maine, and particularly enjoyed Colm Feore's performance as the demonic central antagonist.

Storm of the Century is not based on a novel, but rather an original teleplay that Stephen King wrote after successfully writing miniseries adaptations of The stall and in 1994 The brilliant in 1997. The horror story begins in a small town on the fictional small island of Little Tall (a location King previously used as the setting of Dolores Claiborne), and begins with the arrival of a dangerous stranger named Andre Linoge (Colm Feore).
The man immediately poses as a threat, murdering an old woman with his cane and then waiting for the police to show up on the scene, but the danger he poses becomes increasingly apparent as a horrific blizzard hits and everyone on the island must take shelter. In addition to Feore, the stellar cast of Storm of the Century also includes Tim Daley, Spencer Breslin, Becky Ann Baker, Debrah Farentino and veteran Stephen King actors Jeffrey DeMunn (The Shawshank Acquisition, The green Line, Mist) and Julianne Nicholson (The stranger).
It's a great addition to the Hulu library, which already has some great content if you're a Stephen King fan. The miniseries 22.11.63 was King's first-ever adaptation made directly for a streaming service. Streaming, and subscribers can enjoy two seasons of stone castlewhich was an ongoing series done as a love letter to King's stories.
