What's hidden in Zack Snyder's four hours of Justice League that wasn't shown in the two-hour theatrical version? The answer is obvious: a lot! With double the running time, there's more room for side shows and background stories. One character in particular benefits from this: cyborg.
Played by Ray Fisher, the superhero was one of the big losers in Joss Whedon's version of the DC blockbuster. It was cast aside without gratitude. Zack Snyder's Justice League, on the other hand, shows us how large and complex the character really is. It gives the film another tragic level, very touching.
New to Netflix: Cyborg Upgrade in the Snyder Cut
Victor Stone aka Cyborg makes his first appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He hangs helplessly from cables while his father uses the Mother Box to send bolts of energy through him. Continued Frankenstein's Monster as a beaming superhero: It's a disturbing origin story, which aside from an enigmatic father-son conflict, is barely developed in Justice League anno 2017.

Zack Snyder's Justice League – Trailer (German) HD
Zack Snyder now delves into Cyborg's past to find out where the torn feelings inside the man-machine come from. The first major encore comes in the form of a flashback, the Victor glorious in the spotlight attach. He is the star of the Gotham football team and the crowd cheers him on. Only one seat in the stadium is empty – his father's seat.
Silas Stone (Joe Morton) spends most of his life in the lab instead of cheering on his son on the lawn. It is certainly not the most original conflict. However, the way Zack Snyder captures the moment impressively creates a sense of heartbreaking situation, in which Victor finds himself. It's not just empty space that bothers him: emptiness has defined his whole life.
Justice League and the tragedy between father and son
Furious football moves freeze and Victor's pain unfolds in slow motion. These are found in Zack Snyder's Justice League endless overwhelming images again, especially in connection with the fate of Cyborg. He loses his mother, Elinor (Karen Bryson), and a large part of her body in a car accident. All he has left is his estranged father.

Zack Snyder's Justice League
Zack Snyder's Justice League not only shows us Victor's point of view, but also enters Silas' mind. The attention his job demands at STAR Labs is costing him his family. With small steps he then tries to get closer to the son he lost and reassembled A. Border crossing marks the new cornerstone of their complicated relationship.
Bad decisions and misunderstandings culminate when the two meet at work, but not in person. In Zack Snyder's Justice League, father and son live long before each other before recognize and understand each other. Luckily, there's no mundane happy ending like in the Whedon Cut. Silas dies in the new version of Justice League, which matches the tone of the movie much better.
Cyborg's Fate Brings New Meaning to the Mother Box
A special role is played by the mother box, which appears here and there in the theatrical version, but seems to be the most random MacGuffin in the entire DC Universe. Zack Snyder's Justice League turns the mighty ship into the key to Victor and Silas' relationship. At first she stands huge in space and must be buried in a spooky graveyard in the dark of night.

Zack Snyder's Justice League
It is only gradually that father and son discover the secrets of the object that changes and determines their lives. In the end is a heartbreaking how heartbreaking sacrifice, but also the certainty that it was not in vain: for the first time, Silas and Victor meet as equals. The son continues his father's work without hiding his (newly discovered) vocation.
If Cyborg's quest for redemption and identity in the Justice League feature was just a minor side note, the Snyder Cut includes him in the grand story of tragic superheroes, all grappling with figures distant or lost fathers. Cyborg not only has his own Arc persona, but is also a full member throughout this monumental DC movie.
