Prepare for a very special first love with Charlie Spring and Nick Nelsonthe protagonists of 'Heartstopper', the new British series from Netflix based on Alice Oseman's popular LGBTQ+ comicwhose first season, consisting of 8 episodes, arrives on 22th April.
A little over a week after the premiere, the platform released the official trailer for the series, where we can see that the adaptation has not only remained very faithful to the material on which it is based, but also it looks like the comic book pages have come to life right on the screen.
Since the announcement of the project and the release of the first images, fans of graphic novels have shared their enthusiasm. highlighting the success of the casting and the sensitivity with which his spirit seems to have been transferred to the series, something that is corroborated by the trailer, where we see that the series integrates visual resources from the comics into the animation. It should come as no surprise that the result is so close to the original considering that the 27-year-old author herself was put in charge of overseeing the development of the adaptation.

"Heartstopper" is a coming-of-age story centered on Charlie (Joe Locke), a sweet and reserved boy who meets navigate high school after his high school classmates find out he's gay. Charlie meets Nick (Kit Connor), a friendly player on the rugby team with whom he begins to develop a very close friendship.
Charlie is attracted to Nick, who treats him differently from his teammates. What begins as an unlikely friendship turns into an unexpected romance when Charlie discovers his attraction is mutual. From there, the two will start together, and with the support of a diverse and endearing group of friends, a journey of self-discovery and acceptance in which they will support each other overcome the obstacles that adolescence throws at them and find their most authentic selves.
'Heartstopper' began publication as webcomics in 2018, with huge success on the internet, after which it was published in print, also obtaining a very good reception, with four volumes published and a fifth on the way. In Spain it has been published by Planeta since 2020 in its Crossbooks collection.
