Users are worried about not knowing whether they need a sweater or not
Home screen widgets are so ubiquitous to smartphone users that we probably take for granted how often we use them out of reflex. Whether it's checking the news, stocks, or weather, it's the kind of handy feature you might not think much about until it's gone. Recently, some Pixel users have had to do just that, because not everyone sees their trusty Weather Forecast home screen at a glance.
Redditors started a thread on Saturday, Phone Arena notes, reporting that the weather forecast from the At a Glance widget was not displaying on Pixel devices. One user described retrieving it by going to Settings At a Glance, where you can enable the option to get “accurate weather information and location-related features” through personalization. Of course, you'll need to make sure Location History is enabled in the first place. It looks like the problem isn't just isolated to the Pixel 6, as a Redditor said the weather disappeared from the widget on the Pixel 2 and 5 and another Pixel 4a (5G) owner said the same issue is happening. was produced on their device in the past.

It looks like an ongoing, intermittent issue that sometimes seems to resolve itself, most likely after OS updates or changes in settings choices. As far as phone issues go, that seems relatively minor — unless you live in an area like the Midwest or Southern United States, both of which are prone to inclement weather, especially in the spring. If the At-a-Glance glitch is affecting weather warnings (and there have been issues related to those in the past), it could be dangerous – but there are no recent reports that it's that bad, it's just an irritation, so far.
