Bogotá, Sep 18. Panelists from Disney, Netflix and Universal will participate in Bogotá from September 20 to 22 at Cineposium, the training and networking meeting for film curators from around the world that Latin America will host for the first time. in 45 years of history.
The meeting, detailed by the Regional Institute of Arts (Idartes) of Bogotá, will feature panels dedicated to the analysis of cases such as Encanto, Euforia, Pálpito and Memoria.
"For Bogotá, organizing the Cineposium for the first time in a Latin American city is a demonstration of trust and support from the AFCI (International Association of Film Commissioners) and audiovisual industries internationally", said the Director of Audiovisual Arts of Idartes, Ricardo Cantor.
He added that the meeting "allows the city and the country to continue to be seen as a film destination that provides benefits and facilities for productions."
"We are delighted to open the Cineposium in Bogotá, a space for the exchange of good practices and for the relationship between film curators, public institutions and agents of the audiovisual sector with the aim of strengthening our cities and our countries as as axes of development for the production of cinematographic works and audiovisual content in various narratives and formats,” he explained.
In this sense, Cantor explained that the agenda “of panels and conversations will revolve around three axes: eco-sustainability, gender perspective and film tourism”.
ELECTION IN BOGOTA
The AFCI has chosen Bogotá as the location for the 45th edition of Cineposium, which will bring together more than 200 film curators and audiovisual professionals.
They include Lisa Day, sustainability manager for The Walt Disney Company, and Hans Dayal, who served as stage manager for shows like Supergirl and Minority Report.
There will also be Amanda Blumenthal, who works as a privacy coordinator for shows like Euphoria, and will talk about her experience making the recording set a safe place for women working in the audiovisual sector.
There will also be Yvett Merino, Oscar-winning producer for her work on Encanto; Alejandra Espinosa Uribe, cultural consultant for this animated film inspired by Colombia, and Stefan Roesch, a reference in the field of film tourism in New Zealand.
FILM INDUSTRY IN COLOMBIA
