✔️ How to use Truecaller Assistant to filter unwanted calls
– Reviews News
Many phone calls we receive are robocalls, spam calls, or scammers trying to steal our time and money. The worst thing is that these calls seem to come from local numbers and we are led to receive them. Now, you might already be using an app like Truecaller. While the caller ID and spam blocking feature already does a good job of blocking most spam calls, we all know that some calls still get filtered. Sometimes they are even mixed in with regular calls.
In an attempt to block them, most of us ignore calls that might be important to us. Now Truecaller wants to change that with a new feature called Truecaller Assistant.
Looking at the numbers alone, Truecaller is one of the leaders in secure communication. They have over 320 million active users worldwide and regularly block billions of harmful calls and text messages every year. Can you imagine some of the losses people would face if those billions of calls/texts survived?
In its US Spam and Scam Report 2022 (a survey conducted with Harris Poll), Truecaller reports that Americans lost nearly $40 billion to scams in the previous year, with 68,4 million Americans reporting losses and an average reported loss of $577.
Going back to the app, it comes with features like caller ID, spam reports, and smart texting among others. However, with the new Truecaller Assistant, you can screen and answer your calls. It's as if someone is answering your calls and taking messages for you. Naturally, this will help you save time and keep your peace of mind intact while ensuring you don't miss the calls that are really important to you.
Now that that's settled, let's see how to use Truecaller Assistant to filter unwanted calls. But before that, let's see how Truecaller Assistant works.
What is Truecaller Assistant?
Truecaller Assistant answers and filters calls from potential scammers and spammers. This feature uses text-to-speech and machine learning to create a natural-sounding assistant that receives and screens your calls. This way you won't miss important calls from airlines, hotels and even schools. And at the same time, you can prevent potential scammers from wasting your time. If that sounds like Google's call screening service, you're right. Except that Truecaller's Assistant is available on iPhone et Android.
For starters, Truecaller Assistant is available in the US in English. Other regions and languages will follow. So how does Truecaller Assistant work?
How Truecaller Assistant Works
As stated above, Truecaller Assistant uses machine learning to take your calls. For example, if you receive a phone call, the Assistant can answer it. The option appears directly on caller ID when enabled, although the interface is slightly different on iPhone et Android.
The transition to Assistant is instant, and you can see a live transcript of the conversation on your phone screen. You can ask the reason for the call. You can always pick up the call and continue it as a normal phone conversation if you think it's important. Otherwise, you can always request more information through the wizard. Sounds good, right?
Truecaller advertises over 90% accuracy in field and call detection. Nowadays, when there is a huge increase in unwanted calls, this feature proves to be a smart solution.
How to use Truecaller Assistant
Like the rest of the Truecaller app, using the Truecaller Assistant is very simple.
First, download the app from play store or app store and set it up. Make sure you get the genuine Truecaller app and not one of the scam apps (there are a lot of them). True Software Scandinavia AB created this application. It has a 4,5 rating on the App Store and a 4,5 rating on the Play Store.
Step 1: After installing it, open the Truecaller app on your phone and go to the Assistant tab.
Step 2: You can choose the assistant (and voice) of your choice. For now, the app gives you several options. Just tap the options to see what your assistant will look like. From there, the app will walk you through the next steps for a little setup.
Step 3: After activating the assistant, it will screen your next call. The way it happens is slightly different on Android that on iPhone. On Android, the Assistant button appears below the caller ID when you receive a call. Press the “Let Assistant Take Call” button to transfer the call. The assistant will answer the caller and ask him why he is calling. If it's a call you need to answer, you can tap the Receive button at the bottom to answer it. Alternatively, you can request additional information via the "Explain Reason" button in the live chat.
And if it's a robocall or spam, you can immediately mark the caller as spam to prevent further calls. The interface is a bit different for iOS users, but the functionality remains the same. If the Assistant feature is active and you reject the call (or don't answer), the Assistant will take the call. You can tap the bubble at the top of the page to switch to live chat.
Release date and subscription fees
Here is how you can use Truecaller Assistant to screen incoming calls. There is a significant increase in spammers all over the world. This feature will therefore be a welcome addition.
Truecaller Assistant will be available in English on Android and iOS in the United States. It will be available as part of a 14-day free trial, after which users can add the feature as part of Truecaller Premium. Truecaller promises that the assistant will soon come to other countries, including India.
