☑️ How to use Dynamic Lock on your Windows 11 PC
– Reviews News
How many times have you walked away from your computer without logging out? It's fine if you're at home. However, we do not recommend that you do so in public places such as cafes or your place of work. Your computer contains sensitive information such as your banking details, saved passwords, pictures and other essential files, which must be protected from prying eyes and malicious users.
To counter scenarios like this, Windows 11 comes with a nifty security feature called Dynamic Lockdown, which lets you deny unauthorized access to your PC while you're away. Here's everything you need to know about it and how to quickly enable it on your Windows 11 computer.
What is dynamic locking and how does it work?
Dynamic Lock is a useful security feature built into Windows that allows your computer to automatically lock whenever you walk away, essentially providing another layer of security.
The Dynamic Lock feature measures the signal strength or RSSI (Bluetooth Received Signal Strength Indicator) value of paired Bluetooth devices to determine their proximity to the computer. If the signal from the paired device drops below the maximum Receive Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) value (measured in dB or decibels), the dynamic lock mechanism activates and automatically locks your computer .
After pairing your device with your computer via Bluetooth and enabling the Dynamic Lock feature, Windows can use RSSI to detect when you are away from your computer. If the Bluetooth device associated with your computer is out of range and you are not within 30 seconds of inactivity, Windows will automatically lock your computer. This feature makes it difficult for unauthorized access to your computer if you walk away from it without locking it.
How to Enable Dynamic Lock on Your Windows 11 PC
To use the Dynamic Lock feature in Windows 11, you must first bind your smartphone or other device to your PC via Bluetooth, so that it can detect if you are near your computer and enable the dynamic lock feature in the session start options.
That said, here's how to pair a device to your Windows 11 PC via Bluetooth and quickly enable the Dynamic Lock feature:
Step 1: Press Windows + I keys on the keyboard to open the Settings app. Then click on the “Bluetooth and devices” option on the left panel.
Step 2: On the "Bluetooth & Devices" page, click the Bluetooth switch to turn it on. Then click on the Add device option.

5nd step : Accept the pairing request on your device and check if the displayed PIN code matches your PC's PIN code. If the PIN matches, click Connect.
Step 6: After receiving a message saying “Your device is ready to go!” » click Done.
Now that your smartphone is successfully paired with your Windows 11 PC, perform the following steps to enable Dynamic Lock:
7nd step : On the System or Bluetooth and devices screen, click on the Accounts option in the left pane.
Step 8: On the Accounts page, click on the “Sign-in options” option.
Step 9: Scroll down the "Connection options" screen. Then click on the Dynamic Lock drop-down menu.
10nd step : Click on “Let Windows automatically lock your device when you are away”. checkbox by clicking on it.

Prevent unauthorized access to your PC
Once you enable Dynamic Lock in Windows 11 by following the steps mentioned above, your PC will continuously monitor the proximity of the paired device to your PC to ensure that you have not wandered away from your computer with your smartphone or your paired device.
If the paired device is not nearby, Dynamic Lock will automatically lock your PC within 30 seconds of inactivity. This feature is great if you want to protect your privacy and deny unauthorized access to your Windows 11 PC when you're away from the keyboard.
