☑️ How to force send text instead of iMessage to a contact
– Reviews News
iMessage is Apple's default instant messaging service that competes with WhatsApp and Telegram. In addition to rich messaging, you can even pin a conversation in iMessage to allow quick access. However, it can be inconvenient when you want to send a simple text but theiPhone crashes or sends it as an iMessage.
iMessage only works on Apple devices: iPhone, iPads and Macs. But sometimes the service faces downtime or crashes. You may also have contacts who have disabled their iMessage service or currently have a poor internet connection.
So you can send a simple text message instead of an iMessage. This article will show how to force send a text message instead of iMessage to a contact on iPhone. These steps apply to users ofiPhone and iPad.
Enable text messaging on iPhone or iPad
To force the sending of an SMS, you must first manually activate the option in the Settings menu of your iPhone or iPad. Although you can use most features of iMessage on your Mac, it is not possible to send an iMessage as text on a Mac mainly because it does not have a SIM module. Follow these steps.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap Messages.
Step 3: Scroll down the Messages menu and enable the "Send via SMS" option.
Step 4: Check if you have enabled the MMS messaging feature as well.
Enabling the "Send via SMS" feature will allow you to force an iMessage to be sent as an SMS to a contact. Let us show you how you can do it from the Messages app.
Force send iMessage as a text message
Please note that carrier charges may apply as text messages are sent over the carrier's network to your iPhone or iPad. If your contact uses a device Android, your iMessage will automatically be sent as a text message.
Follow these steps to force send text instead of iMessage to a contact.
Step 1: Open the Messages app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Tap the top right icon to start a new conversation.
Step 3: Find their contact name and send an iMessage.
Step 4: Quickly press and hold the message bubble you just sent to reveal the options.
5nd step : Tap Send as text message.
Your iMessage has now been sent as a text message (SMS) to your contact. The green bubble will indicate the same.
What to do when the "Send via SMS" option does not appear
If you don't see the "Send via SMS" option after long-pressing a message, make sure you're sending the iMessage to your contact's phone number and not their email address. If your contact sent you a message with your email address as the sender, this feature will not work for you.
After that, you can try the following solutions if the option is still not visible.
Reactivate iMessage
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Messages.
Step 3: Tap the switch next to "iMessage" to turn it off.
Step 4: Press the switch again to turn it back on.
5nd step : Tap Send & Receive to select your phone number.
It will take some time for your phone number to register with iMessage.
Step 6: Close the Settings app and open Messages to see if you get the option or not.
Change date and time settings
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap General.
Step 3: Select Date & Time.
