Netflix has revived or picked up dozens of TV shows over the years, and below we'll bring you the full list of every major Netflix revival or sequel so far.
What is a revival or continuation and what is the difference between this and a co-production? With co-productions, Netflix partners with another distributor to make a show. Typically, the show airs in the home country first before heading to Netflix as a Netflix Original.
A revival or continuation is where a show follows the old formula, but the original distributor drops out for some reason. Or it could be that Netflix didn't air the show internationally but, after the cancellation, saw the potential and picked it up anyway.
We're also not counting reboots here. That means the likes of Fuller House, The Teletubbies or

Seasons on Netflix: 8-12

The first sequel came with Trailer park boys, which so far has seen 4 more seasons, an animated spin-off, and countless specials coming to Netflix.
Before Netflix took over, it was available on Showcase in Canada before going completely independent on SwearNet.com, where a lot more of the team's content is still coming in.

Starting life on Channel 4 for two seasons, Netflix finally secured the rights to the show and saw something it thought was perfect for its own streamer.
It was more of "a revival", as reports suggest Channel 4 wanted to continue producing the show.
Three seasons were produced under Netflix with an interactive special called Bandersnatch.
Until mid-2022, black mirror the future was up in the air given the ongoing rights wrangles, Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, but since then we have now confirmed that Season 6 will be heading to Netflix.

Airing on Channel 4 as Scrotal Recall, Netflix would later resume worldwide syndication of season 1 and with Channel 4 not continuing the show for future seasons, Netflix acquired the show. He produced two additional seasons for a total of 16 additional episodes.

This British documentary series originally aired on Channel 5, but Netflix picked it up and replaced the host with Raphael Rowe from mid-2018, with the most recent season, season 6, set to be released. in September 2022.

Seasons on Netflix: 3-5 + Finished Movie

The historical drama series based on the work of Bernard Cornwell the saxon stories it suffered from smaller budgets in its first two seasons. Yet, thankfully, Netflix saw the potential, revived the show, and gave it a fresh coat of paint with a bigger budget.
The show ended with its fifth season in early 2022, but was given a movie to wrap up the story.

Seasons on Netflix: season 3 finished

Running for two seasons on ABC, Kiefer Sutherland's political thriller series was a fan favorite, but sadly the channel pulled it after season 2, which aired between 2017 and 2018.
Netflix revived the series for a 10-episode season (notably smaller than the 20+ episode seasons that preceded it) which would act as the last.
Unfortunately, even if more story was prepared, we would never see season 4 of designated survivor with scheduling conflicts and other factors at play.

First airing on Antena 3 in Spain, the series seemed to have a ballooning budget to potentially face the axe.

The critically acclaimed British drama series Top Boy has had a revival on Netflix and got three more seasons on Netflix. Interestingly, with this release, Netflix did not obtain the underlying rights to previous seasons, and as such, the labels best boy Yes Top Boy: Summer House separately
As you may have heard, part of the revival was due to a word or two from superstar rapper Drake.
Tu
home network: All the life
Seasons on Netflix: 2-4 done

Airing on Lifetime (which has since left the scripted space), Tu it seemed dead until Netflix intervened, reviving the show and sending it into the stratosphere.
It is another title produced by Warner Brothers Television and scheduled for its fourth season, which will be released in two parts in 2023.
Lucifer

Possibly the biggest revival yet in Netflix history.
Lucifer was a Fox series that ran for 3 seasons before the resistant was pulled. Produced and distributed by Warner Brothers Television, they benchmarked it and since Netflix was already streaming the show in most international territories, they had the data to know it was worth going on.
Since Netflix's revival, it had two seasons before it was announced that it was ending. However, this decision was reversed giving it a sixth season.
The takeover excluded regions in Germany and Austria, where the show remains on Prime Video.

the docuseries unsolved mysteries has been on our screens since the late 1980s and had nearly 600 episodes in total when it was released in October 2022.
After several decades, this marked the first time new installments of the franchise were produced exclusively for Netflix starting in 2020.

I based sur The Karate Kid movies, snake kai is a series that originated on YouTube Red for two seasons. Before stopping its original productions, Netflix announced that it had picked up the series for future seasons.
We're told it's one of the biggest and most obvious acquisitions and revivals in Netflix history and has produced and added three seasons, with more potentially on the way.
Ranger
home network: Fox Kids, ABC Kids, Nickelodeon
Seasons on Netflix: 1 completely under Netflix
Netflix carried Power Rangers in one form or another for a number of years, but it wasn't until season 29 (or Dino Fury) that the series became a full Netflix original title and retired the distribution rights to Nickelodeon.
It is important to note that this title only applies to Netflix US.

Airing on NBC for three seasons, the writing looked on the wall for the show not getting a fourth season. After a surprise license to Netflix in the summer of 2021, the show defied the odds and got a big last season on Netflix.

Created by and performed by Meredith Scardino, girls5eva was picked up by Netflix from streamer Peacock in October 2022.
The series sees a group of girls reunite years later after a young rapper gets a taste of their music and seemingly revives their music career.
