Since the release of the remarkable '7 Years' at the end of 2016, Netflix He has released a slew of platform-exclusive Spanish films. For my part, I am quite clear that there are two that stand out from the rest. On one side, there is 'Klaus', an animated little gem ideal for this fast approaching Christmas. On the other we have 'Bajocero', a great thriller which can also be seen for free for a limited time on RTVE Play.
Second feature film directed by Luis Quilezwho is also writing the screenplay in collaboration with Fernando Navarre (“Secret Origins”), “Bajocero” tells how a transfer of prisoners is complicated to unsuspected limits. A mysterious stranger with evil intentions wants to seize one of the detainees and will not hesitate to do everything possible to achieve this.
In 'Bajocero' you will find a great tension exercise, as he alternates the crisis unfolding inside the van with that mysterious threat outside. Obviously, this requires some leaps of faith on the viewer's part, but what it offers more than makes up for those small concessions that are always necessary in stories of these characteristics.
Another of the great attractions offered by the film are their performances, where the work of Javier Gutierrez and Karra Elejalde. The two shine apart, but when the film climaxes is when they have to interact, but the inevitable showdown between the two works more as icing on the cake than its main focus.
If you want to take the opportunity to see it on RTVE Play, keep in mind that it will be available until December 19. By the way, if you're wondering how it's possible it ended up on this platform, it's because "Bajocero" was intended for theatrical release and ended up being sold to Netflix at the last minute.
