It's been 18 months since the death of Kentaro Miura, the creator of Berserk. one of the best-selling manga in history. Since his passing, the manga has been able to continue, thanks to Mirua's close friend Kouji Mori, who was briefed by Miura on the general direction of the story. But it seems that beyond the manga that Mori is creating, Berserk is preparing to make a big comeback after the death of its creator.
On December 1, the series' first original anime Berserk It's coming to Netflix. This series, made by animation studio OLM (Oriental Light & Magic) and directed by Naohito Takahashi, premiered in 1997 and focused on the origin of the protagonist Guts and his time as a mercenary under the command by Griffith. Throughout 25 episodes, the series covered the series' first manga. In its heyday, it was a fairly well-received anime and helped the manga gain a much larger audience, which led to another anime series in 2016, as well as a film adaptation that started in 2012.
Although the original anime was released on DVD and Blu-Ray, it wasn't so easy to find today, especially after Miura's death. Its arrival on Netflix will be good for those who want to see how far the series has come, and it also raises some interesting questions about what the anime's future holds for the franchise. Since October, the anime site Berserk began to display a countdown, which will end in mid-December.
Will it be a complete adaptation of the manga from the beginning to the present day, or new films? We will know in a little less than a month.
