Mexico at Oscar and Goya
Throughout history, Mexican films selected by AMACC have been nominated 20 times for the Goya Award, the last nomination was in 2021 for the film Wolves, de Samuel Kishi Leopo; and on three occasions, Mexican cinematography has been honored for the best Ibero-American film with the Goya: in 1996, the alley of miraclesdirected by George Fons, in 1978, What matters is to livede Luis Alcoriza placeholder image and 2019 Rome de Alphonse Cuaron.

On nine occasions, the films selected by the AMACC have been nominated by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The most recent dates back to: 2011, belle, de Alejandro G. Inarrituand in 2007, Pan's Labyrinthde William of the Bull. For the first time in 2019, Mexico won the Oscar for best foreign film, for the film Rome by Alfonso Cuaron.

The call was open from August 10 to 31, being recorded: BARD, false chronicle of some truthsby Alejandro G. Iñárritu; The hole in the fence, de Joaquin del Paso; The box, de Laurent Beams; night of firede Tatiana Huezo placeholder image; mixed knotde angels cross; attendance, de Luis Mandoki; a police film, de Alonso Ruizpalacios.
On December 21, it will be announced the short list on which the more than 7000 academics will be able to vote. The January 24 nominees to be announced and the Oscar ceremony will take place on March 12 at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. For his part, the Goya will be held on March 11 from Seville.
