It may sound like an April Fool's joke and a pointless exercise, but the creator of the first iPhone with a USB-C port has now made an Android with a Lightning port, even if he agrees on the part useless.
Ken Pillonel's (Kenny Pi) next engineering video marvel was due to be released on April 1 as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the futility of the project, though he swears the port is real and working:
That's it. I finally built the world's first Android phone with an Apple Lightning port. It supports charging and data transfers. This is a Samsung Galaxy A51. After creating the world's first USB-C iPhone, I decided I had to balance the chaos I had created by making the exact opposite invention.
The engineer says he will soon post a longer "making of" video tutorial on how he successfully plugged a Lightning cable into a Galaxy A51 for charging and data transfer.
