Many Apple services experienced outages for much of early Monday afternoon.
Services with confirmed issues, according to Apple's system status page, included iMessage, some Apple Maps services, iCloud Mail, iCloud Keychain, the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV Plus and Podcasts. But after around 15:45 p.m. ET, each service is given the green light again and says the issues have been resolved. Apple did not respond to a request for comment on what might have happened.
Reports of the problems hit Downdetector shortly after 12 a.m. ET, though reports appear to have dropped in the hours since the outages were first reported. The edge staff encountered scattered issues with iMessage and other key services, although the issues did not affect everyone equally.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reported that Apple's corporate and retail systems were also down - which this tweet suggests seems to mean some Apple Store employees had to do their jobs on paper.
On the r/sysadmin subreddit, some have reported that they can't access Apple's Sales Manager portal. A tweet from WhatsAppBetaInfo reveals that the issues even affected other apps (for example, trying to back up your chat history to iCloud).

Apple's developer status page was completely down at one point, although it now shows a number of outages. It too has already changed over the afternoon.
