Interviews
How are you taking on this new international project?
Ana Lucia Dominguez: "It's a wonderful show, it has everything, it's very well written and directed, it grabs you right from the start, it's not for nothing, but it's by far the best thing I've ever done. my whole career. I was accompanied by a very professional cast. When I saw the first chapters, what happened to me as a viewer was that I wanted to keep watching it, one chapter after another, and that's kind of what goes reach the public. »
What are the characteristics of your character?
Michael Brown: "My character has a very interesting dramatic arc that starts out as a role with a set life where fate hits him and a lot of things happen. It's a series that talks about human relationships, different ways of loving, forgetting, guilt and love, it's a character who goes through all these emotions, it's a role that goes to touch the hearts of people and which will ruffle the hearts of many, Simón has a lot of desolation and at the same time a lot of strength and that makes him an extremely interesting character to play and to watch”.
Have you ever been in contact with a transplant recipient?
Anne Lucia: “By fate I met a doctor, who in fact Michel recommended her to me, whose mother had just undergone a transplant and told me that the lady had felt changes in her daily life, in particular in the taste of certain foods. She was transplanted with an organ from a youngster and after the operation she found the charm of the hamburger with the fries, something she didn't consume, it's not something scientific, but I have received similar cases. Although it is a fictitious story, which represents absolutely nothing in reality about organ trafficking in our countries, it is very well told and it is a story that grabs you”.
What was the intensity of the recordings?
Anne Lucia: "There were two months in which I gave my soul, my life and my heart, I came back from recording to continue studying, because the other day we had to shoot, with Michel, after a whole day recording together, we met via Zoom to review the next day's scenes. It was a team effort, the director wrote to us and gave us advice and things he wanted to see reflected in the characters.
I think Colombians and the whole world will see it, because it will be seen in 190 countries and it has been translated into five languages, it's something wonderful. »
We see it more and more in this kind of stories and less and less in soap operas…
michael: "It's been happening to me for many years, I go after stories and characters that confront me and precisely Pálpito has all these elements: it's a very current series, with a contemporary language where a subject is approached that I think we were very scared to touch. , more than organ trafficking, deals with transplantation, what happens to a foreign organ in your body and how it reacts. The truth is that I enjoyed it very much, it is a jewel that works impeccably, it is well put together and played, the photography is impeccable, as is the direction, I think we have a series that rivals any what a drama in the world”.
Coincidentally, you shared several projects…
Anne Lucia: “It all started in Passion for falconswhen Michel had just arrived in Colombia, from there we made a great friendship, after that it was I will teach you to love and then it was mother moon Yes the big hotelI think it was with the actor with whom I've done the most soap operas or series, we know each other very well, we're very close friends, when we're not recording we also share, I'm a very good friend of Margarita and Michel is a very good friend of Jorge, we always try to agree in the countries where we live.
michael: "I was very happy when I learned that Pálpito was with Anita, I know her as a woman and as an actress, I must admit that it gave me immense pleasure, because we stopped see for a long time and suddenly we found ourselves on a set having to shoot a very difficult, very hard series with an enormous emotional charge and with a lot of truth. I met an awesome actress again, it wasn't so easy for her, she arrived near the start of the project and with a character that was hard to work with and she did her life's work”.
You like to see yourself on screen, do you follow your projects?
Anne: "I hardly see them, I'm not very excited, but I was dying to see this one because of the plot, because there's something very special about it and it's something that doesn't bother me. almost never happens. As for me, it makes me sad to see me, it makes me sad, but like in this series, I really wanted to see it. »
michael: "I see them all, some I like, some I like less and some not at all, I'm very critical, but in this one something very special happened to me, because it is difficult for me to get excited by seeing my work. and there, I got excited”.
