The First World War from the German point of view
The story of this film takes us to the German trenches of the First World War to meet Paul Baumer as Felix Kammerer a soldier who volunteers alongside his classmates. Soon, Paul and his friends will learn the horrors of war and the tragedy that Europe is going through.
The film is based on the book of the same title published in 1929 under the authorship of Erich Maria Remarque, which became popular after it was banned for its pacifist message against the world war.
This will be his third film adaptation after a first film in 1930 and another in 1979.
Germany has chosen this film as the official nominee for next year's Oscars, 2023.
It's expected that In the west, nothing is new premieres October 28 at Netflix.
