There is no peace for Activision Blizzard.
Activision Blizzard now faces new allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination.
the lawyer Lisa Bloom filed a lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court on behalf of a current employee named " Jane Doe"Bloomberg Law Reports."
« For years, Activision Blizzard's "frat boy" environment has fostered rampant sexism, harassment, and discrimination with 700 reported incidents under CEO Robert Kotick.“, reads the case.
Doe, who joined the company in 2017, says she was regularly forced to drink alcohol and participate in lewd games. It also says female employees were routinely subjected to sexual comments and groping from male colleagues during alcohol-fueled "cube explorations" in the office.
Doe says complaints about excessive drinking and sexual advances have been explained as " leadership is kind and tries to be his friend“She also says she was told not to voice her concerns because of the harm it could do to the business.
After repeatedly failing to escape to another department, Doe says he was eventually offered another role with lower status and a significant pay cut, after complaining directly to the former president about Blizzard, J. Allen Brack.
He also says his November 2021 application for an executive assistant position was rejected after speaking about his experiences at the company at a press conference the following month.
Doe aims to introduce a rotating HR department to tackle conflicts of interest and wants Activision CEO Blizzard Kotick fired.
Activision Blizzard recently said it was struggling to attract new employees and retain existing employees, and its recruiting difficulties could be exacerbated by ongoing litigation.
In January, it was announced that Microsoft intended to acquire Activision Blizzard in a $68,7 billion deal, the largest ever in the video game industry. Kotick would leave the company once the deal with Microsoft is complete.
