“The Crown” is one of the big highlights of the series on Netflix. But given recent events, production will likely be put on hiatus for the time being, as revealed by the series' showrunner.
September 8, 2022 is Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96. As the head of the British royal family, Europe's longest-serving monarch has been portrayed in numerous film productions. These include both serious portrayals, such as Helen Mirren's Oscar-winning performance in The Queen, and more silly films, such as The Naked Gun.
However, one of the most impressive and detailed portraits of Queen Elizabeth II was in the Netflix series " The crown " drawn. The production, which began in 2016, is devoted to the careers of the various queens and, over the four seasons aired to date, examines different phases in the life of Queen Elizabeth II and other representatives of the royal family.
While season 5 of "The Crown" is already wrapped, the creators of the series are currently filming the sixth and final season. But given the death of Queen Elizabeth II, production will most likely for now on break as Peter Morgan, creator and showrunner of The Crown, recently revealed in a statement (via Comingsoon.net):
“'The Crown' is a love letter to [die Queen] and I have nothing to add at this point, but silence and respect. I think we're going to suspend filming out of respect.

In previous seasons of “The Crown”, Queen Elizabeth II was already played by two grandiose actresses (Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman). For the fifth and sixth seasons Imelda Staunton ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix") now has the honor of slipping into the skin of the Queen. Speculation has it that season six will follow the Queen's life in the 1990s and early 2000s.
In addition, other new stars will be seen in the last two seasons: Lesley Manville ("The Thread") plays Princess Margret while the cast of "Game of Thrones" jonathanprice will take on the role of Prince Phillip. Prince Charles, meanwhile, is from the star of 'The Wire' Dominica West embodied and used to portray Princess Diana Elisabeth Debicki who will be back in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 next year. But before that, we can look forward to the fifth season of “The Crown”, which November 2022 appears on Netflix.
