The Smile, the new trio consisting of Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead and Tom Skinner from Sons Of Kemet, recently announced a European tour which will begin in May. They also released the singles "You Will Never Work In Television Again" and "The Smoke", debuted "Free In The Knowledge" as Yorke's solo acoustic performance, and covered "It's Different For Girls". of Joe Jackson during a live concert. where they debuted even more new material.

Now we get another new song called "Skrting On The Surface", which sounds a lot like if Radiohead had a horn section. It makes sense because the song originated many years ago from a Radiohead release, and because almost all of those Smile songs sound like Radiohead.

“Skrting On The Surface” also has a video, which you can watch below. Shot on 16mm black and white film by BAFTA-winning writer and director Mark Jenkin, the video was filmed at the Rosevale Tin Mine in Cornwall, UK. (A 2019 article recounts how a group of mining enthusiasts have spent the last four decades restoring the mine.) According to a press release, the film itself was developed by hand in water from mine – what, wow.

Look below.

Still no word on a release date for Smile's debut album, but with those tour dates lined up, it should be coming soon.
