Going out on stage for the soundcheck made it all real. I wasn't nervous then honestly. Maybe it was because it felt like my home – my country music home! I used to spend several nights a week coming backstage at the Opry and hanging out, watching some of my heroes and also new artists debuting. I hoped and prayed one day for my chance to enter the circle. This night was a moment of closure for me and a moment that I will never forget.

It might be a girl thing, but getting ready backstage in the front row was the ultimate treat! I never wear makeup, but the Opry was reason enough. My talented MUA/friend Ginger Sharp came out and did it all to me! She can take you from an average feeling to a million dollars! I really felt so special and loved. I was also surprised and sent the most beautiful flowers from my team and my husband! I am a lucky girl.

My husband Kolby is my biggest supporter in the world! He rarely misses a show. It was such a sweet moment to share together. Can't do it without him!

Maybe it was the 10 inch heels I had bought last minute from Amazon, but I felt on top of the world that night! Just walking down the halls backstage was such a surreal feeling. I loved looking in all the dressing rooms – they are all arranged so unique and cool! Nothing beats backstage at the Opry. Oh and did I mention they have the best sweet tea and lemonade? You can make the best Arnold Palmer.

Probably one of the most meaningful parts of the evening was having two of my dear friends and favorite songwriters/musicians by my side – Ryan Beaver (right) and Joe Clemmons (left). They took me under their wing when I moved to town and basically taught me how to write a good song. They have been by my side through it all and I wouldn't be where I am now without them. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else by my side for this moment.

I'm sure a lot of people say this, but I feel like I have the best family in the world! My parents' love and support for me and my music is so unconditional. They've driven me around the country since I was 11, playing polka concerts, dance halls, weddings, funerals, bars, etc. The fact that they make the effort to come to my shows all these years later means the world to me – they drove 15 hours with their three Chihuahuas just to be at the Opry with me! Terri, Kolby's mother also came from Iowa. She's my biggest cheerleader! I am so very grateful to have her as my mother-in-law. Family is the most important! I am grateful that we are all gathered together to celebrate this moment in my career.

It was surreal hanging out in my dressing room – staring at the walls of quotes from artists I've admired all my life who have stood in that same room. Hard to describe the feeling.

Shortly before going on stage, I spent a few minutes by myself warming up on the violin and soaking up the moment. And I try to breathe deeply to help my butterflies!!

What a night! Many people from my team came to support me. And look how many girls there are! I'm so grateful to work with such great people and appreciate everything they do to help me achieve this crazy dream!

The violin has always occupied a big place in my life. It was because of my grandfather that I started playing the violin — he gave me my first violin. He opened all the doors of my life for me and even though I don't play him as much as I used to, I still make sure he stays in my music and in what I do. It makes me different and I love it. When I heard I was going to play the Opry, I knew I had to bring my violin. So we changed the solo of "Don't Do It In Texas" to create a twin violin solo! I just have to have it! The more violins the better!

Twenty-eight years of my life leading up to this moment. And 10 minutes after going on stage, it was done. Just like that! I did – got my Opry debut. I'll never forget Charlie calling me and walking into the sacred circle, spotlight on me, seeing the crowd smile, having my close friends on stage with me, playing songs I love, doing what I love and realizing this crazy dream of mine, my work. It was an unforgettable evening! Thank you Grand Ole Opry!
